Priya Marathe (23 April 1987 – 31 August 2025) was an Indian actress, who was best known for her roles as Varsha in the television series Pavitra Rishta, Pavani Adhikari in Ya Sukhano Ya, Priya Mohite in Tu Tithe Me, and Monica Kamat in Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe.
Her family and colleagues said she had been battling cancer for over two years. Marathe is survived by her husband, actor Shantanu Moghe. Many co-actors including her cousin and fellow actor Subodh Bhave, Pavitra Rishta co-star Usha Nadkarni, Anurag Sharma, Swati Anand condoled her death.
Which cancer does Priya Marathe have?
She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the late 1970s and travelled to the United States for treatment. Sadly, she passed away in 1981, just before her son Sanjay Dutt's first film was released. At the premiere of Rocky, a chair was left empty in her honour.
